The inspiration for this article comes from a heartwarming story about Annie, a rescue kitten named after the beloved musical character. Annie, a sweet black and white kitten with a rough start in life, is currently in the care of Animal Rescue Cumbria and is looking for her forever home.

Apparently, on March 28th 1384, King Richard II issued a royal decree banning the eating of cats in England. Whether the edict was real or just a historical whisper passed down over time, the fact that it needed saying at all is mind-blowing.
